How To Cook Turducken In The Oven
Camila Farah

Preheat the oven set the oven to 325 degrees farenheight and let it completely heat up before placing the bird s inside.
Add a litre of stock to the baking pan and then cover the whole thing loosely with foil set it to cook for three hours. Place your turducken in the oven covered loosely with foil to stop the skin from burning and drying out. Cover entire surface of turducken roll with olive oil and place seam side down in prepared pan. Place the bird on a rack and put it in an oven pan and set it in the centre of the oven and bake until internal temperature exceeds 165 f.
Pre heat oven to 220 f. Lower the temperature a little bit and that differential between the chicken and turkey is reduced. Your 5kg turducken will take approximately 3hours to roast. Prepare pan with cooking spray.
Internal temperature is the best indicator. Baste the roast and then broil on high for 2 to 4 minutes or until golden brown. This means that in a turducken placed in a 350 f oven the turkey will always be closer to 350 f and therefore hotter than the chicken in the middle. Cover the turducken with aluminum foil and bake for 4 hours.

Because it s such a big slab of meat you ll want to cook your turducken at a low temperature for a longer period. Cooking the turducken remove the turducken from the bag and place it in a roasting pan. Spray aluminum foil on one side with cooking spray and cover pan tightly with foil spray side towards and touching turducken. Bake for 5 to 5 hours at 220 f until internal temperature exceeds 165 f.
Remove your roast every 20 40mins and baste it with the cooking juices that are in the bottom of the baking tray. Set your oven to 160 c and put your turducken into whatever baking pan you have that will actually fit it. You need to bake your turducken for approximately 40min per kilo. Heat oven to 220 f.
