How To Cook Ahi Tuna On Grill

Place tuna steaks directly on the grill grates and cook for 4 5 minutes on each side or until the outside changes color to opaque.
Season tuna with salt and pepper and cook on the preheated grill approximately 6 minutes turning once. Transfer fish to serving plates. Brush some oil on your grill grates to help prevent sticking. Salt draws moisture out of proteins like fish and other meats so i make sure to sprinkle it on the tuna at the last second.
This will cook through to the middle provided that your grill is good and hot. Spoon reserved soy sauce mixture over fish and top with cilantro. Transfer to a serving platter and drizzle with freshly squeezed lime juice. Turn the grill on high and close the lid.
Then put it in a greased baking dish and bake it in the oven for 10 12 minutes at 400 degrees fahrenheit. Set the tuna steaks over the coals. Place fish on grill rack coated with cooking spray. 500 to 700 degrees fahrenheit depending on how hot your grill gets.

When the grates are hot lightly oil them and place tuna fillets on the grill. You want to remove tuna from the grill before the surface starts to get crusty and burns. Grill 30 to 60 seconds per side until cooked on the outside but still raw on the inside. If you choose a piece of tuna that is about 1 inch thick then it will grill in about 8 to 10 minutes flipped once.
