How To Choose Art For Your Home
Camila Farah

When it comes to finding the right art piece for your home you have to think outside the box.
The first thing you need to work out is what style you have going on in your home. Never fear because i wrote this post on finding your interior design style and it has a list of the most popular looks. If you are into photography landscapes or desaturated photos work best. For an eclectic look you might want to choose similarly shaped frames in analogous colors and use mat boards in half of your frames.
However even this rule can be broken. Often it is better to mix it up. All of your furniture is mostly white and angled and your walls are clean white. The best walls for art in the bedroom are directly over the bed or on the wall opposite the bed.
Take for instance the wall space over a sofa. By colour you can either choose art that ties back to colours found throughout your space for instance greys and blues if these are predominant in your home or do it in reverse order and start with the art work and build around it. Your home has a very minimalist feel to it. Try different mediums and scales.

But if you find yourself struggling with how to begin your quest for the perfect art for your home kda art studios has put together a few steps for you to follow. A picture on the wall is a classic choice. Think about what you need. As a general rule the art above it should be approximately 2 3 the width of the sofa or larger.
Don t stop there though. Art doesn t have to match your room you can be eclectic says bernerd. You probably don t want to use oval round square and heart shaped red purple green yellow pink and turquoise striped frames with rainbow colored mat boards. In this sort of environment a rainbow abstract art would never fit and will look silly.
Perhaps you don t even know what your style is. Choosing art that s too small is a very common mistake. There is no specific guideline to choose magnificent paintings as art is subjective and its beauty lies in the eye of the beholder. If you are struggling in choosing a style then consider matching the art roughly with the feel and atmosphere of your home.
