How To Clean A Front Load Dryer

Locate the lint screen on the dryer.

They are usually inside the dryer door at the base of the opening. Clean the lint off the filter reinsert the filter and then close the door. Dryers build up a lot of dust and lint on the outside. This video will take you through the steps of how to clean the lint out of your dryer.

Then use a rag to clean the dust and hair out of the gasket. For a gas dryer do the same with a liquid nonflammable household cleaner. You ve got to get rid of all that mildew. Furthermore on front load washers that rubber seal clings on to all kinds of bad stuff.

Remove the lint that has accumulated and then clean the lint filter. Pull the gasket open a little and remove any foreign objects like coins or nails. For an electric dryer rub the drum with a soft cloth that has been dipped in a mild hand wash dish soap diluted in very warm water. Look for screws around the lint filter since this is usually the spot to start.

So for this area dip a cloth into plain white vinegar and 10 drops of tea tree oil or lavender oil and give it a good wipe down. Be sure to clean knobs and buttons too since they both collect grime. For both an electric and gas dryer rinse well with a wet sponge or towel. With the screws undone the panel can be removed.

Alternatively if your dryer has two plastic end caps on the left and right sides of the front of the control panel pull the end caps off and then remove the screw below each end cap. Unplug the machine and clean the exterior. Remove the lint that has accumulated inside the space. Open the lint filter by separating it at the top.

Slide a putty knife under the front left and right sides of the control panel to release the spring clips. To clean a dryer drum open the panel surrounding the drum. Pull the tab on the screen to lift the filter straight up out of the dryer.
